Who are some of the highly accomplished athletes known to have outstanding academic records?

With a 1320 SAT, David Robinson was accepted into the US Naval Academy, where he majored in mathematics. When he graduated, he fulfilled his service requirement by becoming a civil engineering officer at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia.  
 
Robinson then joined the San Antonio Spurs, which won two NBA Championships during his time. He was NBA Rookie of the Year in 1990, Defensive MVP in 1992, MVP in 1995, and a 10-time NBA All-Star. He also has two Olympic Gold Medals. He is in the NBA Hall of Fame.
